Account Executive

Summary of Position

We seek a full-time communications professional to join our team as account executive.  Responsibilities include writing and implementing dynamic public relations plans, client relations, event management, graphic design, social media and advertisement placements. Applicants should possess strong writing skills, creativity and a resourceful nature. Skills that would be considered a plus, but not required include website management and familiarity with email marketing.


Public Relations – develop and implement strategic public relations plans for a variety of clients

Writing – media releases according to AP Style; perform ghost writing for clients

Media Relations – research and maintain current media lists; make media calls and pitches; build and develop media relationships

Event Management – planning and facilitating logistics for special events

Advertising – plan, negotiate and purchase advertising campaigns; act as liaison between clients and ad reps to write and approve copy/designs, meet deadlines and ensure proper branding

Client Relations – serve as a point-of-contact for clients, keeping them abreast of progress through consistent and concise communications

Social Media – familiarity and experience with social media platforms and campaigns

Graphic Design – concept and design advertisements for online, print and email campaigns; create design pieces for events, mail outs, flyers and posters

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in marketing, communication, public relations or media. Two to five years of relevant experience is required. The position requires a high level of creativity and functionality. Knowledge and proven skills are required in writing, relationship building, organization, communication, and team building. We are a small staff and work in a fast paced, dynamic setting. The position requires the ability to balance multiple tasks and work independently. A proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Web skills are a plus. The availability of personal transportation is required with continuous automobile insurance coverage.

Fall Intern

Summary of Position

The Andrews Agency is looking for a bright, eager, rock star student or recent graduate to join our team for the summer semester as an intern. Responsibilities include public relations planning support, event support, social media implementation, writing assignments, building and updating media lists, research projects, and various administrative and organizational tasks.


Our ideal candidate would possess strong writing skills, have the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and be a team player. The position is ideal for a junior or senior majoring in marketing, communication, public relations or media, or a recent graduate of a related field. Previous internship experience, as well as proficiency in graphic design, is helpful but not required.


The position is unpaid, but will provide meaningful experiences and relationships for an individual interested in pursuing a career in public relations or communications. We are willing to provide documentation needed in order to receive course credit.
